Treatments
Three ways to straighten teeth, two things we make to hold the result, two for growing patients, and two areas we treat alongside another specialist.
Straightening your teeth
Three routes to the same result
Braces
Metal or ceramic brackets, fixed to the front of the teeth. Adjusted every 4 to 8 weeks until the bite is right.
Lingual braces
The same fixed treatment, bonded to the back of the teeth. Nothing shows from the front.
Clear aligners
A series of ClearCorrect trays, changed in order. Taken out to eat, worn at least 22 hours a day.
Made for your case
From a scan of your own mouth
For growing patients
Kids and early teens
Growth modification
Functional appliances, expanders and headgear-type appliances that guide how the jaws grow, used while a child is still growing.
Habit-breaking appliances
Small appliances that help a child stop thumb or finger sucking, tongue thrusting or mouth breathing before the habit shapes the bite.
Treated with a specialist
Planned alongside another doctor
Jaw surgery
For bites that need the jaws themselves repositioned. Planned around the operation and co-treated with a maxillofacial surgeon, before and after.
Sleep apnea and airway
An assessment of the airway during sleep, and appliances that help hold it open. Referral to a sleep specialist where the case needs one.
